    2. I think the Tucks were crimianls because they did kidnap Winnie even though they didnt mean it, it still is ilegal. Jesse suggest that Winnie drink the water when she is 17 so they can be together and get mrried and explore the world. `` how`d it be if you wait till ur 17, same age as me, the you could go drink some of the water, then go away with me! 8. 1.)The Tucks felt like Winnie was like a daughter/sister, but Winnie felt like they were kidnappers.
2.)No I dont think they were criminals because they were just trying to help Winnie. That Winnie could drink the water in 6 years and they could get married. Yes because she was thinking about it, and kind of had a smerk on her face.
3.)He goes there to tell the Fosters that their daughter had been "kidnapped" and that he wants to give their daughter back only if he can have the wood.
4.)The trade he makes is give their daughter back for their wood.

  9. 1) Mea and Tuck feels love twards Winnie. They treat her like they would their own daughter. Tuck is very happy when Winnie comes because she is a regular human."The boys say you brung along a real, honest-to-goodness, natural child!" This quote is when Tuck is asking if Mea brought a real child. Winnie has a bunch of mixed feelings like romance, sadness, being mad, comfort and awe.

    2) I do think that the Tucks are criminals because they kidnapped Winnie. Even though they aren't being mean and are hospitable Winnie still wants to go home, but she knows that she will go home in the morning. The suggestion that Jesse gives Winnie is that if she ever drank from the spring, to at least wait until she is 17. That way "you could go away with me!" This quote is when Jesse tells her that when she turns 17 she can drink from the fountain and they can run away together. Yes, her interest in Jesse surprises me because she is a 10 year old girl crushing on a 17 year old boy. In my book it is kind of wierd.

3/4) The man in the yellow suit goes to the fosters house because he wanted to bribe them. In exchange for the information that he knows on Winnie, he wants their land. That way, he can take the water from the spring and sell it for money." I've got what you want, and you have what I want...I want the wood and you wan the child." These are the exact words the stranger had said to them.

    5) I think that the real reason the Stranger says he is going ahead is so that he can find the location of the spring. That way he can start selling the water.

    1. Mae Tuck and Angus Tuck feel bad for Winnie because they had to kidnap her away from her family and Winnie found out about the spring. They are worried about her drinking from the spring and missing her family. They want to try and get her back to her family as soon as possible. “’Why, of course you do, child. That’s only natural. I’ll take you home. I promised I would, soon’s we’ve explained a bit as to why you got to promise you’ll never tell about the spring. That’s the only reason we brung you here. We got to make you see why.’”(57) Winnie doesn’t know if she should believe the Tuck’s because their story in reality would seem pretty far-fetched. She does know that they care about her though. “She felt cared for—and confused. And all at once she wondered what would happen to the Tucks when her father came. What would he do to them? She would never be able to explain how they had been with her, how they made her feel. She remembered guiltily that at supper she decided they were criminals. Well, but they were. And yet…”(71) In this quote it seems like Winnie can’t make up her mind. In conclusion, this is how Winnie feels about the Tucks and how the Tucks feel about Winnie.

  11. PART TWO
    2. I do not think that the Tucks were criminals. How can someone be a criminal by protecting? Yes, maybe they should have thought about her family before they took Winnie but I believe it is for her own good. I also believe that if she wouldn’t have been “kidnapped” then she may have drank from the spring and made an awful mistake. Jesse suggests to Winnie that she waits until she turns seventeen then drinks from the spring. After drinking from the spring Jesse says that Winnie and him could get married and live a happy life together. “’But the thing is, you knowing about the water already, and living right next to it so’s you could go there any time, well, listen, how’d it be if you was to wait till you’re seventeen, same age as me—heck, that’s only six years off—and then you could go and drink some, and then you could go away with me! We could get married, even. That’d be pretty good, wouldn’t it!’”(71-72) Her interest in Jesse doesn’t surprise me because I felt like there was some foreshadowing leading up to when he suggested that to her.

    3. The man in the yellow suit goes to the Foster’s house because he saw the Tuck family take Winnie with them and went to tell them he knew where she was. Although he said he knew where she was and she could get him he wouldn’t go find her for the Fosters unless they sold him the wood. I think he wants the wood so he can make a lot of money off the spring because he saw the spring too and over heard the Tuck’s story. “’That’s right,” said the man in the yellow suit…’”(73)

    4. The man in the yellow suit says that he will return Winnie only if they give him the wood in return. “’I’ve come a long way, looking for a wood exactly like the one you’ve got next door here…’”(73-74) In this quote he says how he wants to trade with them. I can infer he wants to trade because he wants to make money off the spring or use the spring himself.

    5. I believe that the stranger is going ahead because he is anxious to find Winnie and return her so he can drink from the spring. I do not think there is any other reason that he could be hiding because to me it doesn’t really seem like it. “’Would you mind if I rode on ahead?…’”(79) If you read that page of the book he sounds like he just cannot wait to get to that spring and see what’s up.
